THEATER
Students will learn basic and advanced acting skills with an emphasis on physical approaches to creating a character. Monologue and scene work will be performed. The final project will develop polished audition material for future use.
MUSICAL THEATER
New in 1998!! As part of the theater program, students may major in musical theater, which will integrate concentrated actor training with voice work. Students will join the drama majors for morning exercises, then branch off for solo and duet song work. A minimum enrollment of ten students is required.
TECHNICAL THEATER
Students study lighting, sound, and set construction in Wesleyan's Center for the Arts facilities using state-of-the-art equipment. In addition, students will travel to Goodspeed Opera House, a Tony-award-winning regional theater located twenty miles from the Wesleyan campus, for workshops and hands-on activities during the first three weeks of the program.
