This conference has been organized as a forum to explore the present
and future uses of technology to enhance language instruction in the New England
liberal arts colleges involved with Project 2001, a 62-college language and technology
initiative funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Project 2001 facilitates
collaborative development of technology-based materials for language learning.
This conference will showcase technology projects developed by language faculty,
and offer a much-needed opportunity to establish professional contacts that will
inform our efforts to implement technology in our language and literature curricula,
as well as encourage future consortial projects.
