On the desktop:

Under the desk:

On the wall next to the instructor station:

There are five light switches located here.

In addition, the Mellon Electronic Classroom contains a regular overhead transparency projector. If you wish to use it, feel free to wheel it to the center of the room and plug it in to the electrical outlets in the floor.

Finally, there is a slide projector at the rear of the room, just above the computer labeled "Language Lab #9". The power and fan switch is located on the left side of the slide projector as you face it, so you may need to turn it towards you to turn it on and off. The slide projector is intended for use with the smaller screen at the front of the room, located to the left of the main projection screen. This screen may be raised and lowered manually using the attached string.

Showing images and video

Image projection from the computer, VCR and laserdisc player is controlled from the remote control located on the extreme left side of the desk at the instructor station. You cannot remove the remote control from its box, and you don't need to; it is already in the appropriate position to control the ceiling-mounted projector.

Turn on the ceiling-mounted projector by pressing the button marked "on/Off" located on the upper right corner of on the remote control. You should see the orange light on the projector turn green. The projector will warm up; this may take a moment or two.
