In this, our 15th year of academic programming for adults, we are once again offering an eclectic mix of courses—some by popular demand, some by new request. In the Wasch Seminars’ decade and a half, we’ve survived a succession of crises, from the economic meltdown that began in 2007–8 to the pandemic that is not yet over, and on to today’s threats to national and global stability and the future of democracy. But the goal for us has remained the same—to offer expert and enlightening courses that challenge and expand our minds and deepen our understanding of the changing world around us. Our spring list ranges from creative writing to a photography workshop, from our ever-popular exploration of a period in art history to a field study of New England's migrating birds, as well as to an encounter with Shakespeare as living theater and much more. Watch for our printed postcard in your mailbox or at your local library or coffee shop as a colorful reminder to check our Registration page for the detailed course descriptions and registration information.
In 2024, we’re challenging you to share the joys of adult learning with friends and family—under the watchword CONNECTION. Share the secret to longevity! Memory enhancement doesn’t come in a pill bottle. The evidence is clear: continued learning in the company of others stimulates brain activity, contributing to vitality, stamina, creativity, and effective problem-solving. 2024 is the year to invite someone who matters to you to join one or more Wasch Center Seminars. The inquiries started in the classroom and the skills built or newly acquired will be with you long after the courses wrap up.
Our very best for the New Year,
Krishna Winston & Richard J. Friswell
