Brian Gligor

Brian received his Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Tennessee, where he was also later hired as an instructor for undergraduate acting technique courses, as well as graduate movement courses for actors. His movement courses focused primarily on The Suzuki Method and Viewpoints. He had studied these methods extensively with The SITI Company, as well as with John Sipes, a master movement instructor. Brian also taught acting at The Gateway Playhouse Acting School for several years. Brian has been working professionally for over fifteen years, touring nationally and internationally, acting in regional productions as well as directing student productions, and appearing in television and film projects. He has held a resident artist position at the Clarence Brown Theater for four seasons. He is a member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.

My desire to teach is based in a twofold pursuit: to sustain a continual inquiry and practice as an actor and theatre artist, and to give back to others something of what that inquiry has given me. We are fortunate to be creatures with limitless possibilities of expression, as we will always be able to find new colors, new notes, new textures, through continued training.
