Calvin O'Malley Anderson

Calvin Anderson is a New York based Lighting and Projection Designer.
He tours with various musicians, dance and theater companies around the world. Some favorites have been BODYTRAFFIC, Strings & Serpents, Opera To Go, and CrossSound. From 2012-2014, Calvin was the Lighting and Technical Director for Ailey II.

Calvin has taught full courses at the University of Connecticut and Wesleyan University, and has given master classes at Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, PA and to select classes in Asuncion, Paraguay.

Select New York City credits include: FJK Dance (Lighting/Projections), Battery Dance (Lighting/ Projections), Salvatore LaRussa Dance Theatre (Lighting), Gold No Trade’s The Pinks (Lighting); and YBW’s Yellow Brick Wall: Angry White Men played by Two Happy Asian Girls (Lighting/ Projections). He is as an Assistant Lighting Designer with Arc3Designs.

Other favorite design credits include An Iliad (Lighting), with Jeannine Haas as the first woman to tackle the role of The Poet; Ani Difranco at The Pines, in Northampton, MA; Flipzoids with Generator Theater Company in Jueanu, AK; and Artic Magic Flute, which toured the state of Alaska with Opera To Go!.

Calvin is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
