Charles Halvorson

Charles Halvorson is a historian of the United States, interested in environmental governance in the second half of the twentieth century. A graduate of Lewis & Clark College in Portland in history (2009), Charles received his Ph.D. from Columbia University (2017) with a dissertation entitled "Valuing the Air: The Politics of Environmental Governance from the Clean Air Act to Carbon Trading." This project examined the formation and growth of the Environmental Protection Agency and the inflection of economic discourse into environmental policy and advocacy in the 1970s and 1980s.
