My research is organized around the study of speciation and its consequences. To understand species boundaries, I use a variety of biogeographic, behavioral, historical, and genetic methods and make use of singing insects, especially cicadas, which are easily obtainable and identifiable hemipteran insects found worldwide. This work is highly collaborative and depends on a number of well-established relationships among researchers.  Visit the Periodical Cicada Project Page at www.magicicada.org.
