Quiara Alegria Hudes

Hudes is a playwright and author. For her 2012 play Water By the Spoonful, Hudes was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Drama. Her 2009 musical In the Heights, written with Lin-Manuel Miranda, won the Tony Award for Best Musical and was a Pulitzer finalist. Other works include Elliot A Soldier's Fugue (another Pulitzer finalist), Daphne's DiveThe Happiest Song Plays Last, and Miss You Like Hell. Hudes created Emancipated Stories to put a personal face on the lives made invidible by mass incarceration.
