	In September 2006, the Wesleyan Board of Trustees requested that the Dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics generate a document discussing the role of science in a Wesleyan education, the strengths and achievements of Wesleyan science faculty and students, the larger goals and resource needs of the sciences at Wesleyan, and plans for meeting those goals and needs.
