THESIS:
I will be writing about Latin American poets,
writers, and intellectuals and their participation in the political sphere,
focusing particularly on their conceptions of modernity.
ACTIVITIES:
I participate in the student-run Second Stage Theater and played on the varsity women’s
lacrosse team for two years. I sing with three student bands oncampus, as well as with Ebony
Singers and Ensemble Singers. I also am a member of Alpha Delta Phi.
OUTSIDE WESLEYAN:
My passion for coaching, Spanish, and sports proved useful in my participation in the Beyond Study Abroad program—I spent seven weeks in Costa Rica teaching sports in under served neighborhoods. I studied during the week and traveled throughout the country on weekends. I was able to bring so much back to apply to my studies at Wesleyan.
FAVORITE WESLEYAN EXPERIENCE:
At the end of my sophomore year, the band I was singing with, Mad Wow, had the opportunity to play at the Tent Party, which is the all-campus party held the evening before graduation. The entire Wesleyan family—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and parents—comes together to celebrate the year’s accomplishments. As I sang on stage for my peers, graduating seniors, and alumni from the year I was born, I felt lucky to be part of such a supportive, creative, smart, and caring community.
AFTER WESLEYAN:
Wesleyan has been a great a place for me to explore the curriculumand different areas of study. I want to explore a variety of options and opportunities after graduation.
