Congratulations on your admission to Wesleyan University!
The Pre-frosh Program for Admitted Students of Color is the longest running program for students of color at Wesleyan and now runs concurrently and collaboratively with WesFest. In 1971, black students at Wesleyan initiated this program to encourage more students of color to attend Wesleyan. In the beginning, the Student of Color (SOC) program was more narrowly focused and almost exclusively student-run. The success of the program has produced greater participation from the SOC community. Currently, the program is jointly sponsored by the SOC Community and the Office of Admission, which allows the program to reflect the diverse interests and experiences of the community.
All admitted students are invited to campus to experience Wesleyan firsthand during WesFest and the SOC Program April 12-14, 2012.
"I'm constantly breathing in air polluted with creative energy. I have never met so many personalities, established so many friendships, participated in so many events, explored so many buildings, discovered so many tunnels, appreciated so much beauty, and envisioned so many possibilities in a single day as I have today. Absolutely proud to call Wesleyan my new home." -- Gerard Liu, 2015
