Memories of WesFest:

"Going to Mabuhay with some new friends was definitely the biggest influence on me during my SOC Weekend experience.  For one of the first times in my life, I felt a sincere, intense connection to my culture and history that has continued ever since at Wesleyan.  It was amazing to see how much support Wesleyan gives to its student groups, so the students can display their talent and hard work while embracing rich cultural diversity.  This was a powerful moment for me and it only increased my admiration for Wesleyan."  – Greg Wong, 2015

Major: Government and Sociology
Hometown: Tuxedo, NY
High School: The Lawrenceville School

Memories of WesFest:

"WesFest was such a positive experience for me because it allowed me to truly get a feel of what the Wesleyan experience is. Sure, Wesleyan is about working hard and staying on top of your academics. But it's also about meeting new people and learning from those people because everyone has a story to tell. I was completely enraptured by Wesleyan's attention to the importance of diversity and the Mabuhay show was such an amazing experience for me. As I sat on Foss Hill, looking at my surroundings, I knew that Wesleyan was the place for me and I was so grateful to WesFest for giving me that chance to experience Wes." -- Chika Oparaji, 2016
