WHY I CHOSE WES:
|
Once I had gotten all
my acceptance offers from various schools, the deciding factor was an
economical one: financial aid. Wesleyan simply offered me the best aid package,
making it cheaper for me to attend here than other comparable private schools
and even my flagship state university. I loved Wesleyan upon my arrival in the
fall of 2011 (I never visited!) and have been happy here ever since.
|
ACADEMIC INTERESTS:
|
I chose Neuroscience & Behavior as a major because I am interested in memory and learning: how does the brain manage tasks of various complexities from walking to language learning? I thought the biological and psychological approach of the Neuroscience & Behavior major fit my interests. I am also interested in entering the medical field in the future. |
FAVORITE CLASS:
|
My favorite class so
far has been the Neurophysiology Laboratory with Professor Bodznick. Bodznick
is a great teacher, ever patient and kind. The lab is a very hands-on
experience and allowed me to connect what I learned in other neuroscience
classes with real animals. We were able to design our own project at the end of
the semester with a lot of freedom, where I felt more like a researcher and
less a student being fed information.

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A TOUR GUIDE:
|
Being a tour guide lets me tell my Wesleyan story, and how it has shaped me so far. I am thankful and extremely happy to be here. I hope that I can help prospective students start their own Wesleyan experience by showing them what our school and fantastic student body has to offer. |
