WHY I CHOSE WES:

I was initially drawn to Wesleyan because of its open curriculum, size, and reputation for possessing a uniquely active music scene. While visiting, I discovered that not only were all of these things important to the campus culture in ways that I liked, but the student body was more energetic, friendly, and uncommon than I could have imagined. It felt right, and luckily for me that feeling turned out to be completely on point.

ACADEMIC
INTERESTS:

Wesleyan has a very engaged intellectual atmosphere, and many of my favorite moments here have been revelations while discussing my work with friends that have completely changed the way I look at the world. I’m most interested in psychological theory, intellectual history, creative writing, and the politics of change. The history department at Wes is really flexible, which has been great because the major allows me to pursue this wide range of academic interests easily.

FAVORITE CLASS:

The Modern and the Postmodern with President Michael Roth '78

CAMPUS
ACTIVITIES:

WESU radio station
College prep tutor at CT Juvenile Training School
United Student-Labor Action Coalition organizer

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A TOUR GUIDE:

I want to be a tour guide to share my experience of Wesleyan with prospective students; coming to Wes was so crucial to developing my sense of identity and interests both inside and outside of the classroom I felt a little obligated to help others discover what an incredible environment Wesleyan is.

FAVORITE MOVIE:

Chinatown
The Warriors

FAVORITE SONG:

Take Five by Dave Brubeck

FUN FACT:

I lived in Oslo, Norway for almost four years during middle school. It was cold and dark.
