Admitted Students Of Color (SOC) PROGRAM
APRIL 12-14, 2017
Congratulations on your admission to Wesleyan University!
The Admitted SOC program began in the 1970’s as a student-driven initiative to support the University’s efforts to attract and enroll students from historically underrepresented groups. Over the years, this program has evolved and changed, but the primary goal of increasing the number of Students of Color in the community continues to be the motivation.
We invite you to explore the campus, visit classes, and participate in events sponsored by current students that celebrate and highlight the diversity in the Wesleyan community! The program runs concurrently with WesFest and is designed to allow you to participate in the events planned for both programs. By signing up for the Admitted Students of Color Program*, you are automatically registered for WesFest. To register or view a tentative schedule of events, visit the side navigation bar.
"I wanted to thank you again for being so welcoming and accommodating for me and all other admitted students this week. I really appreciate the fact that Wesleyan encourages and supports students visiting campus. You made it so easy to come and visit which has not been the case for other schools I've been admitted to, so I am very appreciative. Especially considering my crazy flight time this morning!
The student of color program really amazed me and made me realize the supportive and inclusive vibe at Wesleyan. Your attention to admitted students of color really means a lot for me, as I'm sure it does for a lot of the students of color at Wesleyan." -Grace, 2016 Participant
