What are President Bennet’s plans after Wesleyan?
Under Doug Bennet’s passionate leadership, Wesleyan University is stronger than it has ever been academically, administratively, and financially. Over the last 10 years, annual gift support for Wesleyan has increased from just over $10 million to $35 million and alumni participation has risen to 54 percent. After what will be 12 years leading Wesleyan, Doug and Midge plan to reside in Hadlyme, Connecticut, where Doug intends to remain actively engaged as a Wesleyan alumnus. He and Midge have planned a series of trips during this academic year to thank the many alumni and parents who are contributing so much to strengthening the University. Join us as we bid farewell to our president.

How are things proceeding with the search for a new president?
A Presidential Search Committee is now at work. Kofi Appenteng ’81 P’07 has agreed to chair the committee, which will consist of alumni, students, faculty, and a Wesleyan parent. The committee will aim to present final candidates to the Board of Trustees next spring, and a wide request for alumni and parent input is underway. The Wesleyan community is committed to achieving a constructive and energizing presidential transition.
