Facts about Wesleyan Giving
- Last year, alumni, parents, and friends joined to contribute $8.3 million through the Annual Fund for students, faculty, and facilities. For the third consecutive year, more than half (54%) of all alumni gave to Wesleyan in 2005.
- Gifts of all sizes combine to provide financial aid to 47% of current students as well as faculty salaries, library resources, and campus improvements. Last year, gifts in amounts up to $25 from more than 4,300 alumni totaled over $50,000; 2,000 alumni gifts of $26-$50 provided nearly $100,000 in resources for teaching and learning at Wesleyan. This aggregate effect makes every gift, small or large, powerful!
- The tradition of loyal giving begins with current students. The Class of 2005 broke new records with 94% participation and $10,100 in its Senior Class Gift.
- Among alumni donors in 2005, 1,771 gave for the 15th or more consecutive year; 739 members of GOLD classes (graduates of the last decade) gave for the 5th or more consecutive year. The most venerable member of our Day Society for consecutive-year giving has supported Wesleyan for more than 70 years!
