Wesleyan Raises Record-Breaking Support for Excellence
August 8, 2005
The numbers are in for 2004–2005, and they reinforce Wesleyan’s many significant strengths.
- The most exciting news is that our overall cash total of $31,318,152 is the largest sum ever raised at Wesleyan in one year! The previous peak was $31,012,649, in 2001.
- We met the WAF goal of $8.3 million and the Fund for Excellence (FFE) goal of $2,875,000.
- The participation rate closed at 54%. The enormous success of our student calling program enabled staff to focus on the dollars more than on participation, a marked improvement given our ambitious dollar goals.
- We exceeded our endowment goal slightly ($7,574,468 against a goal of $7,024,000).
- Finally the Campus Renewal Fund (CRF) raised $3,725,639 (goal: $4.6 million). The CRF, a portion of the endowment created through gifts and their market appreciation, allows Wesleyan to make necessary capital improvements.
