From the Campus series, by Ben Rowland ’08.
What are you up to now with graduation so close?
Ben Rowland: I am taking my last four classes, and still shooting everyday. I’m a big political junky though, so as long as the presidential campaign continues, a lot of my time is spent reading and watching the news. Otherwise, I am writing my senior thesis for the College of Social Studies on the decline of the British aristocracy at the turn of the 20th Century.
Tell me about your recent projects, like your recent politics gallery.
BR: I was recently in New Hampshire and was able to cover all the events leading up to the primaries there. I am going to begin shooting soon (I believe, check back in with me next week about this to make sure), for the Middletown Press. I continue to shoot for the Argus and my pictures have been featured in a couple of online magazines.
What are your plans for after graduation?
BR: I will be living in New York where I plan to work as a photographer, and I assume I will take any job that I can get, whether that be with a magazine, newspaper, or news agency. I think I would like to start off focusing on photojournalism portraiture and fashion. I am considering applying to grad school for photography next year.
