Launch Mail, and from the menu select
Mail → Preferences… -
Select the
Accountstab and click the “+” button at bottom left. -
Select IMAP as the account type, enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: field for messages you send, and enter your full Wesleyan e-mail address, e.g.
username@wesleyan.eduorusername@alumni.wesleyan.edu -
For Incoming Mail Server enter
[username].mail.wesleyan.edu, where[username]is your username, then your username and password below that. -
Check the SSL box. Select
Passwordas the authentication type. -
For Outgoing Mail Server enter
[username].post.wesleyan.edu, where[username]is your username. Check Use Authentication then provide your username and password below that. -
Select
Passwordas the authentication type. -
This is the summary screen.

Summary screen closes and you are presented with the Accounts tab of the Preferences window.

Select the
Advancedon the main Accounts pane (right of screen, below Rules). Make sure that Port is set to993. Then click the Account Information tab to return to the main Accounts view. -
Click
Server Settingsat the bottom of the window, check the SSL box and change the port number to465.
