  4. Enter your e-mail address in the format username@wesleyan.edu

  5. Select either POP3 or IMAP. (What's the difference? POP is an older, light-weight protocol that is designed to hold your mail on the server until you check it, and then to delete it once you download the mail to your computer. IMAP is a newer, more interactive protocol that enables you to view your mail on the server from your computer. IMAP is ideal for people who use more than one computer to check their e-mail with a program like Outlook or Eudora. In this case it works best to configure both instances of Outlook to use IMAP.)

    Input the following settings:

    • Incoming Mail Server: username.mail.wesleyan.edu
    • Outgoing Mail Server: username.post.wesleyan.edu

  6. Input your username under Account name (if it isn’t already there) and your password under Password if you would like Outlook to remember your Password.

  7. Let Outlook download your folders and press OK if you want all selected. Otherwise, remove the ones you do not want displayed.
