Start Outlook Express, and on the
Toolsmenu, clickAccounts. -
Click on
Addand selectMail…. -
Enter the
Display Namethat you would others to see when they receive e-mail from you and that you will see when you open your Outlook Express. -
Enter your
e-mail addressin the formatusername@wesleyan.edu -
Select either
POP3orIMAP. (What's the difference? POP is an older, light-weight protocol that is designed to hold your mail on the server until you check it, and then to delete it once you download the mail to your computer. IMAP is a newer, more interactive protocol that enables you to view your mail on the server from your computer. IMAP is ideal for people who use more than one computer to check their e-mail with a program like Outlook or Eudora. In this case it works best to configure both instances of Outlook to use IMAP.)Input the following settings:
- Incoming Mail Server:
username.mail.wesleyan.edu - Outgoing Mail Server:
username.post.wesleyan.edu
- Incoming Mail Server:

Input your username under
Account name(if it isn’t already there) and your password underPasswordif you would like Outlook to remember your Password. -
Let Outlook download your folders and press
OKif you want all selected. Otherwise, remove the ones you do not want displayed. -
You will then be prompted for your
password. Enter your Wesleyan password. Click onInboxand your mail will be displayed.
