Lombardi, is directed by Thomas Kail ’99 and stars Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years) as Coach Vince Lombardi and Emmy-Award winner Judith Light as his wife, Marie. The play is written by Eric Simonson based on the book, When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi, by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Maraniss.
Vince Lombardi’s (1913–1970) coaching style was legendary—and intensely theatrical. In Lombardi, Broadway audiences are sure to be captivated by the story of a family chasing the American dream while football fans learn more about the dramatic private life of the sports hero for whom the Super Bowl trophy is named.
