Exploring the Natural Treasures of Costa Rica and the Darien Jungle, plus the Panama Canal

Explore exotic Costa Rica, where the terrain ranges from luxuriant rain forests and jungle landscapes to deserted beaches and windswept volcanic summits. We will share an enriching travel experience aboard the Yorktown Clipper and learn about the history and culture of the area with Wesleyan Professor of History Ann Wightman.  Excursions to the Curú Wildlife Refuge, Manuel Antonio National Park, and the Darien Jungle reveal a virtual kaleidoscope of plants, birds, and other wildlife. We end our tour with a transit through the Panama Canal, where our ship is lifted 85 feet at the Continental Divide and then lowered back down to sea level.

» Price: $2,580 plus airfare
