Island Life in Ancient Greece

Enjoy an eight–day cruise across the Aegean Sea through the lands of the great gods of Greece and Rome and explore the rich history and culture of the Byzantine, Roman, and Ottoman empires that once controlled these islands. Begin by visiting the picturesque seaside villages and windmills of Mykonos and the nearby island of Delos, mythical birthplace of Apollo. Next, explore the volcanic cliffs of Santorini; the Greco–Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman architecture of Rhodes; and the ancient Monastery of St. John on the island of Patmos. The tour concludes at the well preserved Greco–Roman ruins of Ephesus and the legendary city of Troy. Throughout the cruise, expert guides will lead the excursions and give onboard lectures to enhance your knowledge and enjoyment of the region.
