Your vote makes Wesleyan a great University
From the Nominating Committee
Each year, Wesleyan’s alumni are given the opportunity to elect three trustees to the University’s Board of Trustees to serve a three-year term. Nearly one third of Wesleyan’s board is elected directly by alumni, giving alumni the privilege of helping guide the direction of the University.
As always, this year’s slate of nominees includes individuals of accomplishment who represent a range of expertise, backgrounds, and ages. They share a strong commitment to Wesleyan, and to making our University ever stronger and better.
Participation in alumni trustee elections was 10 percent in 2009, and I encourage you to vote this year to move us toward a level of electoral participation equal to the participation we give to the Wesleyan Fund. Wesleyan deserves no less, and you deserve the chance to have a stake in the governance of the University.
Electing new trustees prompts gratitude for the service of those whose terms will expire in July of this year. They are Karl M. Furstenberg '67, Andrea Barthwell '76, and Joshua M. Gilbert '95. Remaining alumni-elected trustees are Ellen Remmer '75, P'12, Paul Mason ’77, Joseph Haddad ’78, Dr. Michelle A. Lyn '84, P'12, Sid Espinosa ’94, and Ilena Newell '94.
Thank you in advance for your participation,
Brendan Coughlin ’95
