Andrea Grubb Barthwell ’76

Andrea Grubb Barthwell '76 is CEO of the international health and policy consulting firm EMGlobal LLC. Dr. Barthwell served in the Executive Office of the President of the United States from 2002–2004 as a senate-confirmed advisor on policies aimed at preventing and treating drug abuse and addiction. Her career in medicine and public health has focused on disparities and finding innovative ways to bring care to underserved communities and individuals. A past president of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Barthwell has been named by her peers as one the “best doctors” in addiction medicine. She served on her class’s 10th and 30th Reunion Committees and is a 2006 recipient of the Wesleyan University Distinguished Alumna Award.
