David Hill
David Hill is the vice president, general counsel, and secretary for Verizon Communications in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is responsible for all legal and regulatory matters and is actively involved in charting the strategic direction of Verizon in those jurisdictions. Since joining Bell Atlantic in November 1994, he has been heavily involved with helping Verizon, formerly known as Bell Atlantic, and its operating companies thrive in the constantly changing, dynamic telecommunications marketplace created by the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
Prior to joining Bell Atlantic/Verizon, Mr. Hill was associated with the law firm of Hogan Hartson, the largest law firm in Washington, D.C. As the lead attorney in Wilkins v. Maryland State Police, he helped to secure injunctive relief preventing the use of race-based drug courier profiles in the State of Maryland.
While at Wesleyan, Mr. Hill was a member of the College of Social Studies, was a resident advisor, and played defensive back on the Cardinal football team. After a two-year stint at Bain & Company in Boston, he received his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School.
Mr. Hill is the class agent for the Class of 1986 and is a Wesleyan alumni admission volunteer. In addition, he serves as a trustee of the People’s Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland and is on the D.C. local advisory board of the Building Enterprises for Learning and Living Foundation, an organization focused on improving the educational opportunities for inner city youth.
Mr. Hill and his wife, Lynn Moore Hill, have one son and reside in Silver Spring, Maryland.
