Secret agreement between COL,
Administration reveals source of
Bernstein’s rejection

A letter recently released by an undisclosed source reveals that the termination of Visiting Professor of Letters Howard Bernstein’s contract is the result of an agreement made between the senior members of the College of Letters (COL), the Administration, and the Advisory Committee in the spring of 1998.

In a letter recently released to the Argus, it is evident that senior faculty members of the College of Letters (COL) and the Administration made an agreement in 1998 that Prof. Howard Bernstein would not be granted a faculty position after June 30, 2001,
nor would any of the parties signing the letter propose any further
positions.

as five bands performed in Battle of the Bands. Middletown, The
Dogs, Illegalize, Guava Canoe, and Ship Orchestra competed fiercely

Wesleyan Men’s tennis falls to Brandeis

Though they managed a couple of big individual wins, the men’s tennis
team (6-11) fell to Brandeis again for the third straight season, losing
4-2 at home on Wednesday. Brandeis has blanked the Cards the
previous two years.
