Palestinians earned culpability by snubbing peace efforts

The following events recently took place in Israeli cities:

Afula, November 27 – Two killed, 50 wounded when two Arab terrorists opened fire on a crowd of people at the Afula central bus station.

Pardess Hanna, November 30 – Three killed, nine injured in a suicide bus bombing.

Jerusalem, December 2 – Ten killed 180 wounded when two suicide bombers and a car bomb went off in the city center.

Haifa, December 2 – 15 dead, 37 wounded in Haifa suicide bus bombing.

This is the just a small sample of the attacks against Israeli civilians carried out by Palestinian terrorists this past year. The quantity of suicide bombers, car bombs, and attacks on Israelis driving in their cars is immense. Blatant hatred backs all of these attacks.

To my dismay, the way I hear the violence between Arabs and Israelis explained on this campus is largely distorted. To say that these acts are done out of Arab frustration does not suffice. It is true that Palestinian living conditions now are hardly decent. But NOTHING justifies these ruthless acts. Palestinian violence against Israelis is not legitimate, it is not a natural product of an oppressed people and it is not fighting for freedom. Killing teenagers at a nightclub, massacring families at a pizzeria, or blowing up everyone on a bus in Haifa is not fighting for freedom. It is slaughtering innocent people.

To believe the fabricated labels of “freedom-fighting” for terrorism is to believe that these acts are the
