| Think, question, act By Becca Witt and Gina Zorzi Do you think about the presence of hate on the Wesleyan campus? Do you witness acts of hate and violence here? Are you ever a target? There have been over 45 acts of hate on this campus since 1980. Nine more incidents have occurred since Sept. 11. Why don’t we talk about them? Are you silent? Don’t you think it’s time to start talking? The art installation outside of the Campus Center, the CFA, Olin, and Freeman is our effort to raise awareness about Wesleyan’s closeted history of hate and violence; to show the increase of violence and hate since Sept. 11; and to challenge our community to think, question, and act. So take a few minutes to read the timeline, think about the art project, and grab a patch. Wear it to show your commitment to making Wesleyan a safe space. Wear it as a refusal to be silent. There have been nine violent incidents since Sept. 11. Witt is a member of the class of 2003 and Zorzi is a member of the class of 2004
