Meat-eaters can be converted

By Janene Podesta

In response to the Wespeak in Friday’s Argus stating: “Meat-eaters will never, ever be converted into vegetarians”...well, then how can there be so many former meat-eating vegetarians around here? Hmmm, I guess they must have been converted. I was, by friends who informed me of the horrible treatment and slaying of farm animals. So, let’s get this straight: I ate meat. People told me the awful things that happened to procure that meat. I became vegetarian. Uh-oh, unless I’m the exception that proves the rule (which I highly, highly doubt), there’s at least one glaring generalization in that article; and I’d be willing to bet a big, juicy Boca burger there are quite a few more.
