Letters
to the Editors
Dear Argus Editors,
I think the most telling point of your fine editorial “Be Not Ruled by Emotion”
is the very first word: “dozens.” A tiny group of dissenters can make as much of
a spectacle of themselves as they want; they can inconvenience as many people as
the school will suffer; they can teach to the converted by day and by night; but
they will not be able to blind the rest of us to the glaringly obvious: we were
attacked, we have retaliated, we will win.

To the Editors,
This year, I am very proud to be part of the Middletown Democratic Ticket, as a
cadidate for the Planning & Zoning Commission. I wholeheartedly endorse the
ticket because it is one rich in diversity, dedication, and determination —three
essential ingredients to progress. Diversity allows various life experiences to
come together, spawning new ideas and talents. Dedication brings about loyalty
and trust, without such, team work would be impossible. Determination is the
last link to progress, providing the drive and hard work crucial for getting the
job done for the residents of Middletown. Every member of the ticket understands
that we are working as public servants for the benefit of Middletown and its
residents. This is evidenced by its philosophy: There is no reason why economic
development and protecting the environment cannot be done at the same time. Both
are needed, today for our benefit, and tomorrow for our children’s. It is all
about balance and knowing how and when to compomise.
In closing, I ask for your support and your vote on November 6th, for myself and
for all the members of the Democratic Ticket. Middletown has seen a lot of
positive changes in the last few years, and we would like to build on that
success, and make it permanent.
