The tragic death of Sergeant George Dingwall has had
an appropriately profound effect on Middletown. Schools and roads are closing
in memory of a beloved father and husband, a respected police officer and
a valued member of the community. Although many Wesleyan students may not
have recognized Sergeant Dingwall by name or face, we must be careful not
to remove ourselves from the community’s collective bereavement.

Snow-Capped
Foss Entire Crowds By Rebecca Schiff and Ben
Van Heuvelen |
|
| |

Foss Hill is littered with frozen bodies, but it’s not a
job for Public Safety – the snow is here, and students and Middletown residents
alike are taking advantage
of the icy slope of Wesleyan’s all-purpose hill.
"When there’s snow on the ground, Foss Hill replaces
Olin as the place to pick up ladies," said Jody Avirgan ’02.
Hugh Robbins ’03 agreed. "It’s easier to meet the ladies
when my face is hidden behind my scarf and hat."
Wesleyan men are not the only ones who see potential
for finding a date in the snowy innocence of a sledding hill. "It is romantic
with the snow falling," commented Jenna Gordon ’02. "But I’d say anywhere
is a good place to pick up guys or girls."

IDAHO – Kids from Idaho are notoriously sensitive about all

them potato head and watch him bristle with anger. Other potato-specific
insults that they especially resent include spud-eyes, tater-nose, yam-breath,
yam-nose, and sweet-potato dick-face.

Superbowl
Sunday: food, fun and football By Jessica Angell |
|
| |

While Sundays on campus are typically reserved for catching
up on work, many students spent this past Sunday watching others work to
make catches. It was, of course, Superbowl Sunday – a day which pit
the Tennessee Titans against the St. Louis Rams, both teams vying
for the coveted title of Superbowl champion.
