Womens Soccer Bowdoin College (12-2) scored both of its goals in a six-minute span to break open a scoreless tie and end womens soccers season on a four-game losing streak. The Polar Bears peppered Wesleyan Keeper Ella Naef 03 with 35 shots. Naef came up with 22 saves in a losing effort. The Cardinals lost nine of their last ten games and scored only six goals in that span. Volleyball Although the volleyball teams 18-12 record assures a finish above the .500 mark, it did little this weekend to improve its seeding at the upcoming New England Small College Athletic Conference Tournament. The Cardinals fell to both Williams College and Amherst College in the Little Three tournament last weekend at Williams. Against Amherst, Wesleyan won only one game, as the Lord Jeffs rolled 15-12, 15-7, 10-15, 15-6. The Ephs proved to be even more formidable as they dispensed of the Cardinals in three games 16-14, 15-12, 15-1.The main bright spot for the Cardinals was Alexis Keeler 02, whose eight service aces allowed her to snap Jess Rooneys 00 record of 85. Keeler now has 88 aces on the season Ultimate Frisbee Nietzsch Factor, the mens ultimate frisbee team, traveled to Williams this weekend to attend the Purple Valley Tournament. On Saturday, the squad got off to a strong start, defeating intrastate rivals Yale. The team next drew Dartmouth, who fell 15-10 in the finals of Yales tournament two weeks ago. Wesleyans defense never solidified this time and the team suffered a disappointing 15-10 defeat. On Sunday, playing in the B pool, Wesleyan regained the form they had displayed in New Haven. Led by strong performances by Matt Freeman 00, Julian Marks 02 and James Burke 03, Nietzsch Factor defeated Princeton 15-8 and Middlebury 15-11 in the finals. Nietzsch finishes its fall season this weekend at home versus rivals Amherst and Yale. Mens and Womens Cross Country Mens and womens cross country clocked disappointing performances at a meet at Hamilton College.
