Wesleyan tops list with black trustees By Amy Tannenbaum

The University was recently cited by The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education (JBHE), as having the largest percentage of black trustees among the nation’s highest-ranked liberal arts colleges, and the second largest among the highest-ranked universities.

Wes students moan, then gasp, Wednesday morning

While the nation still doesn’t know who its forty-third president will be, Wesleyan students are reacting to the strange turn of events of the last several days with protests and uncertainty. Florida, the sunshine state, remained up in the air throughout the evening as state after state fell to either Gore or Bush. Eventually, both candidates came so close to the 270 electoral college majority needed to win that it was definite whoever won Florida would be the next president.

Student playwright puts his show on

What did you do last Friday and Saturday at 7:30 [p.m.] and Sunday at 4 [p.m.]?
I split my time between the backroom of Russell House cueing actors and watching the play "Mickey" from the front row, silently cheering on the actors. How long have you been working on this project?
I wrote the play in March and have been rehearsing for it since early September.

Pitbulls on Crack take second at nationals

You win some and you lose some. Some times you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. This past weekend, the Wesleyan water polo team traveled to Oberlin College in Ohio to participate in the National Division III Club Water Polo Tournament. The Pitbulls on Crack (as they like to be called) were seeded first going in, but drove away from Oberlin with only a second place trophy, finishing the season with a 12-6 record.
