Students prepare to flee campus for vacation

Fall break begins Wednesday!

Some students will spend it sitting in their rooms, reading large volumes with small print, actually tackling their work. Others will head home, dash off to New York or Boston, or visit friends at other colleges.

"I’m going to Boston where I’ll party like a rock star, and then I’m going home," said Jeremy Cluchey ’03.

"I’m visiting a friend at University of Rochester who’s miserable," said Michael Leviton ’02. "She’s obsessed with a strange boy. I wanted to go to see her, and it turned out she was miserable after I decided to come."

"I can’t believe I’m going to Ithaca instead of France," said Rachel Bronsther ’03. "You can go Hartford to Paris for $249 round trip with an e-saver, and my mom said I could go, but I already had plans to see my best friend at Cornell."

"I’m pretty much going to be drunk the whole weekend in Boston, standing on a curb looking for my one true love, the Pontiac Bonneville," said Shawn Lemerise ’02, who is traveling with Gag Reflex. "We’re going to Emerson [College] and doing a workshop with them, which should be very cool. Mingling with other enthusiastic college folk–and if you can believe it, they might even drink with us."

Jesse Soursourian ’03 and Noah Weiss ’02 will remain on campus. Soursourian is working on a student film.

"I’m working here, helping out anyone who has computer problems and is stupid enough to need help," Weiss, who is working at the ITS help desk, said.

"I’m staying here partying," said Tamara Becher ’03. "I’m going to drink like a turtle in the Sahara desert with my soccer teammates."

"I’m hijacking my parent’s car," said Jake Bennett ’02. "It’s so I can visit friends over the weekend. They’re going to be at school. I’d be alone otherwise."

"I just want to chill," said Abigail Rabinko ’01. "I’m going to go home and sleep. And sleep. And play in the leaves, of course."
