Highlights of the Week

Adding to his conference-leading figures with 13 catches for 227 yards and three TDs, including the game-winner in overtime, Matt Perceval ’00 was named NESCAC offensive player of the week and to the ECAC weekly honor roll as he led the Cardinals to a 36-29 football win over Bates. It was Weselyan’s 13th straight victory over Bates, dating back to 1982. Women’s soccer posted its second shutout win of the season with a 1-0 triumph at St. Joseph. Field hockey and men’s soccer both finished the week in fine fashion after losing a tough game mid-week. With its top five runners finishing in a span of just 47 seconds, women’s cross country placed in the middle of the field at the New England Championship, where nine of the top 10 teams were Division I colleges. Eliza Allen ’03 broke the seasonal team record for blocks by adding 10 to her total, giving her 119 already in 1999 as the women’s volleyball team went 1-2 on the week. The previous record was 117.
