Public Safety Brief:
Student Mugged on Church St.

At approximately 11:20 Monday night a male student walking east on Church Street near C lot was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint.

The student said a red Ford Mustang with tinted windows was driving westbound when it crossed into the oncoming traffic lane. The driver, a black male who was wearing a blue basketball jersey and appeared to be in his twenties, pointed a gun at the student and demanded his money. The student handed his wallet to the assailant, who removed its contents. The assailant then instructed the student to walk toward Lawn Avenue.

Public Safety was subsequently notified along with the Middletown Police Department which, according to the student, is currently conducting an investigation.

Director of Public Safety Maryann Wiggin said a campus safety bulletin will be sent out on Tuesday.
