New alcohol policy targets student group parties

A new rigidly enforced alcohol policy is threatening to transform Wesleyan’s party scene. Two weeks ago, Mike Whaley, dean of student services, sent a memo to members of the Administration and the heads of several campus societies and fraternities. A drinking school with an administration problem
Rumor has it that changes are being made to Wesleyan’s alcohol policy. Students have returned to campus only to navigate confusing waves of gossip and hearsay regarding these ominous and ambiguous modifications to the school’s regulations regarding alcohol served at parties. The Administration remains tight-lipped, choosing to leave students to waft in mystery and anxiety rather than engage in open communication.    tri  more...

Second round of classrooms renovated

Fifteen classrooms across campus were renovated and refurbished with new technology this summer as part of Phase Two of the Classroom Improvement Program (CIP). Pollack and O’Shea exhibits offer unique perspectives

Mouth open and arms akimbo, the figure in Barbara Pollack’s installation resembles a towering ape dominating the Zilkha Gallery. The subject of the picture is Pollack’s own son. It is the largest and most striking photograph in the exhibit, "The Family of Men," which will run through Oct. 8.

Women’s volleyball cruises into opener at Johnson and Wales

Today marks the beginning of the women’s volleyball season as the cardinals head to Rhode Island for the Johnson and Wales tournament this weekend. Only one team is on the Cardinal’s schedule for tomorrow, but they will play four more throughout the weekend as part of the tournament. Returning setter Christina Fucci ’02 said she is enthusiastic about the team’s chances in its first tournament.
