Class Descriptions - Fall 2007

Hiking in Wadsworth ** New Offering**
The class will meet at the rear entrance to the FAC followed by driving to Wadsworth Park and hiking on the trail system. We finish with walking and cool down stretches.

Rowing for Fitness
This course is designed to introduce individuals to the use and benefit of rowing as a lifetime fitness activity. Through the use of the Concept II rowing ergometer, instruction will be given on proper rowing technique, conditioning, injury prevention and ways to include rowing as part of an overall exercise program. No previous rowing experience necessary. Class limited to 20.

Yoga Fitness
An introduction to basic yoga postures and breath awareness, with a focus on proper alignment for the body. Suitable for both beginners and experienced students. Please bring a sticky mat.

Pilates Mat Class
A wonderful way to get into shape and tone your muscles, Pilates will help you achieve physical, mental and social balance. This class will explore the fundamentals of Pilates through many of the beginning mat exercises. Come with a mat, water bottle, towel and a pair of 3 lb. weights.

The ABC's of Strength on Cybex
Learn proper technique and comfort level on Cybex machines to increase strength.

Superset Class w/Steps  ** New Offering**
Strengthen your entire body while moving at a quicker pace. This workout challenges all major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Bring your own choice of weights to get the results you came for.
Great music...suitable for all levels.

Power Stretch
Classes to stretch muscles, improve skeletal alignment, balance organ and gland functions, reduces stress, revitalize energy and promote an overall sense of well-being.

Squash Lessons
Learn proper technique and the basics of squash to improve your game on the court.

Beginning Water Aerobics
Water provides a superior environment for exercise, comfortably toning and strengthening muscles with greater balance and efficiency. In addition, this class will enhance your flexibility and range of motion.

Brisk Walk
You will take vigorous lunchtime walking excursions on the new Long Lane walking path.
