Meet the Wellness Team

Heather Minetti - Wesleyan Adult Fitness Coordinator
Heather is a 1976 graduate of the University of Colorado. She earned her Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, as well as another Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Connecticut. Heather serves as the Coordinator of the Wesleyan Adult Fitness Program and the Lunch and Learn Program.

John Biddiscombe - Director of Athletics
John Biddiscombe has been a member of the Physical Education Department at Wesleyan University for 32 years and has served as Chair of the PE Department and Athletics Director for 18 years. During his time at Wesleyan he has coached three sports including assistant football coach, head wrestling coach and assistant track and field coach.

A graduate of Springfield College with a B.S. in Physical Education and a M.Ed at Slippery Rock State University with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology, John has been very active in many athletic and professional physical education associations.

Heather Minetti - The A,B,C's of Strength Training with Free Weights, Walk/Jog, Beginning Water Aerobics and Power Stretch

Sue Schade - Yoga Fitness and Superset Class
Sue has Yogafit certification in levels I and II. She currently teaches physical education at Choate Rosemary Hall, Durham Park and Recreation Department, Wallingford Parks and Recreation Department and Unique Fitness Center for Women. Sue has over 15 years of experience teaching fitness class.

Janet Parks - Pilates Mat Class
Janet Simone Parks received her internationally recognized Romana's Pilates certification from Sari Mejia Santo. She graduated with honors from Skidmore College with a BA in both Classical Ballet and Art History. She had danced professionally since 2000 in Atlanta, New York City, Saratoga Springs and now in Connecticut. Drawn to Pilates for its rigorous methodology and applicability to ballet technique, she continued her study in Atlanta and New York. Through her research she realized the relevance of Pilates to all people and aspired to teach. She taught with Pilates of Dunwoody in Atlanta since the fall of 2005 and currently teaches in Darien at Ward Pilates, LLC.

Stacey Bobbitt - Floor Barre, Move & Stretch It and Mini-Modern
Stacey Bobbitt has been a dancer and movement educator for 23 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her 6 years as Visiting Instructor of Dance in Wesleyan's Dance Department and is now excited to work with the "other side" of Wes' population ... Staff and Faculty! Stacey is presently working as a Licensed Massage Therapist, teaching dance to adults with disabilities, making art in her home studio and indulging her passion for yoga in her first Yoga Teacher Training program.

Shona Kerr - Squash Lessons
Shona comes to Wesleyan from the UK where she grew up playing competitive squash with the world's top players. Her experience includes representing England on a number of occasions as well as her home county of Sussex. Notable tournament achievements include fourth place in the Malaysian Open and third place in the Swedish Open. Shona has been a college coach in the US for the past six years, formally at Wellesley College and now here at Wesleyan. She will be overseeing the instruction for adult fitness squash classes that will be facilitated by members of both men's and women's varsity teams.
