Facing an Amherst squad that entered with weekend with a .335 team batting average, the combination of Nick Cooney '15, Gavin Pittore '16 and Sam Elias '15 went a total of 23 innings, collectively allowing a mere eight hits for an opposing team batting average of .113. The three all produced shutouts during their time on the mound. They gathered 17 strikeouts and issued six walks over the three outings. Elias also got the final out in the series opener after a pair of relievers were touched for five runs in the 10-5 Cardinal victory.
