Though Wesleyan controlled the tempo of the contest Sat., Sept. 12 at Williams in the season opener for both teams, Williams netted three goals by the same player in a span of 10 minutes during the first half and it stood up in the 3-0 win for the Ephs. Wesleyan's next game will be another NESCAC matchup as the Cardinals host Colby in the home opener Sat., Sept. 19.
The Cardinals had more shots and corners in each half than its host at Williams, including a decisive 13-2 margin for shots and 10-1 edge in corners over the final 35 minutes, but Wesleyan's accuracy was a bit lacking as only four of its 20 shots during the game found the net. Leading the way offensively with eight shots was Allie Lynch '11 (#23, photo). Newcomer Ashley McLaren '13 launched five shots goalward.
