Bowdoin, which led 7-0 after 3:24 of play on a 51-yard TD run from Tim Lawson, got 115 yards out of Lawson's 14 carries as Bowdoin collected 189 yards on the ground, but 20 of their 42 rushes picked up two yards or less. Wesleyan scored 35 straight points, taking control in the third quarter when Wesleyan hit the endzone twice on Ron Jacob's runs of 17 and 18 yards, the longest TD runs of the season for the Cardinals. Earlier, Larry Woolard picked up his team-leading ninth rushing TD of the year on a two-yard carry in the second quarter.
With his two TD catches, Perceval improved his figure to eight on the year as he averages nine receptions and 144.5 yards a game through the air. He broke the Wesleyan single-season record for receiving yards with 877 this year. Last year he set the mark with 860 yards in eight games.
Wesleyan, which hosts undefeated Williams (6-0) next week, defeated Bowdoin for the third year in a row and improved its command of the overall series to 44-26-2, dating back to 1906.
