Chris Potter has been head men's
ice hockey and golf coach at Wesleyan since the 2003-04 season. This will
be his sixth season at the helm of both squads. He holds
the rank of adjunct associate professor of physical education at the University.
Chris formerly served as assistant men's ice hockey
coach and recruiting coordinator at Brown University from 1998-2003. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of
Connecticut where he was a four-year ice hockey letterman, an All-American
as a senior and a two-time all-ECAC and all-New England selection, began
his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater from 1996-1998. For
three years following his graduation, Chris was a member of the Roanoke
Express in the Southern Division of the East Coast Hockey League. Roanoke
is currently affiliated with the Chicago Black Hawks of the NHL.
From 1997 to the present, Chris has been involved
with USA Hockey-Team New England as an instructor, assistant coach and in
2001 and 2002, as a head coach.
Chris earned his Master's degree in education from
UConn in 2003.
Jeff Gilarde -
Associate Head Coach

Jeff Gilarde
joined the athletic golf staff in 2003 as an assistant and was
recent;y elevated to associate head coach. He has been the
Director of Scientific Imaging in the biology department at Wesleyan
since 1984. Before that he was an assistant scientist in the
department of pathology at the Yale School of Medicine. He earned
his degree in biology from the University of Connecticut in 1982
where he was also on the track team.
With the golf team, Jeff has been involved with recruitment,
player development and is happily referred to as the “swing doctor”
in the Wesleyan golf program. He posts a seven handicap himself and
can usually be found sharpening his skills at Lyman Orchards Golf
Club (Wesleyan’s home course).
Jeff and his wife, Lisa, their daughter, Camille, and twin boys,
Alec and Graham, make their home in Cobalt, Conn.
