Medical Clearance and ImPACT Testing for Winter
and Spring Sports, 2009-10
I. Medical Clearance
1. All athletes are required to go through medical clearance prior to
participating in official team practices.
2. Fall sport athletes who are participating in a winter or spring sport DO
need to be cleared,
AFTER THE FALL SEASON ENDS.
Cross-country athletes DO NOT need to be cleared for indoor track.
II. Medical Clearance Procedures:
1. Report to Athletic Injury Care for medical clearance, as scheduled
below.
2. Bring your COMPLETED Wesleyan Athletic Injury Care Medical
History form.
The Medical History form is available on the AIC web site or by
clicking
here.
3. Bring a copy of the
front and back of your medical insurance card.
YOU WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED TO GO THROUGH MEDICAL CLEARANCE
WITHOUT THIS COPY!
4. Do not work out in the 3 hours prior to your medical
clearance time.
5. Bring any relevant paperwork concerning medical conditions needing
attention.
III. Medical Clearance Schedule for Winter and Spring Sports - 2009-10
Tuesday, October 13
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Wrestling
Wednesday, October 14
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Baseball (frosh only), Softball (frosh only) and Women's Lacrosse
(frosh only)
Thursday, October 15
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Men's and Women's Swimming
Friday, October 16
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Men's Lacrosse (frosh only)
Sunday, October 18
ImPACT Testing (see schedule below)
Monday, October 19
9:00-12:00 and
1:00-3:00 pm -- Women's Ice Hockey
Tuesday, October 20
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball
Wednesday, October 21
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Men's Ice Hockey
Thursday, October 22
9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00 pm -- Men's and Women's Squash and Men's and
Women's Track
Spring sports medical clearance in October is for first year
student athletes only.
Any athlete who is unable to attend his or her team's scheduled
clearance time should make an appointment with Joe (x3528), Ken (x3068) or
Vicky (x3980).
IV. ImPACT Testing
All athletes participating in collision and contact sports are
required to take a baseline
ImPACT test as part of medical clearance.
The only athletes who need to take the baseline ImPACT test are those
athletes who have not been previously tested.
Testing will be held in Exley Science Center, Room 74.

Sunday, October 18
3:00 pm Men's Ice Hockey, Women's Ice Hockey, Men's
Basketball and Women's Basketball
3:30 pm Wrestling, Diving, Softball
4:00 pm Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse
4:30 pm Baseball
