Information for Teams Visiting Wesleyan University
2009-10 Academic Year
Teams visiting Wesleyan University will have
access to the Athletic Injury Care facility on the lower level of Freeman
Athletic Center. AIC will be open approximately 2 hours prior to most events
and for at least 30 minutes after events. Visiting Certified Athletic
Trainers may utilize any of our modalities (electrical stimulation,
ultrasound, whirlpool, parrafin, hot packs, ice packs). Water and ice will
be on your bench and emergency equipment, including an AED, are on site or
within a 3 minute response time for events in the Freeman Athletic Center. A
Certified Athletic Trainer will be in attendance or on call for home events.
A physician will be in attendance at home football, men's ice hockey and
men's lacrosse
games and will be available for most home contests.
Please notify us in advance if your team is
traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer. Teams visiting without a
Certified Athletic Trainer may use hot packs or ice only. If an athlete on a
team that is traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer requires
additional treatment, please contact us in advance and send written
instructions for treatment. We do not provide over-the-counter medications
for visiting athletes.
