Cardinals Come up Short in NESCAC Game at Bates as First-Half Drought Proves Costly
Hanging tough with an 12-5 Bates squad on the road Fri., Feb. 1, Wesleyan found itself trailing just 21-19 with nine minutes left in the first half. But a 22-8 surge by the homestanding Bobcats for the rest of the period sunk the Cardinals' hopes as Bates moved out to a 43-27 lead at intermission. Wesleyan got as close as 53-41 in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Bates pulled away to post an 85-60 NESCAC win. The squad got 16 points from Jeremy Kaminer '10 (#15, photo courtesy of SteveMcLaughlinPhotography.com) and 13 from Stan Grayson '09. The team continues its road swing with a trip to Tufts on Sat., Feb. 2.
