FALL NOTES

 

Textile River Regatta - 9/30/01 in Lowell, Mass.
The men had five boats entered. In the club 8 event, Wesleyan finished 6th (18:53) and 11th (19:15) in a field of 30 entrants. In the Open 8 event, Wesleyan finished 8th (18:23) out of 20 boats. The Novice 8 placed third (19:46) of 14 entrants and the Open 4 entry finished 25th (23:59) out of 25.

Head of the Connecticut Regatta - 10/7/01 in Middletown, Conn.
Wesleyan had five entries of undergraduates in the regatta with a 3rd- and 12th-place finish among 33 boats in the Intermediate 8 as the highlight. In the Novice 8, Wesleyan was 6th and 9th of 17 entrants. Wesleyan also had a lightweight fours entry which placed 12th of 13. Two alumni boats raced in the Masters 8, coming in 9th and 11th out of 11.

Head of the Charles Regatta - 10/21-22/01 in Boston, Mass.
Wesleyan had three entries in the regatta. With the top four rowers competing in the Championship 4 event, Wesleyan placed 19th of 29 teams, timed in 17:30.19. The next eight oarsmen comprised a Club 8 entry and finished 29th of 67 crews with a time of 16:36.32. Rowers 13-16 made up a Club 4 boat and placed 28th of 70 entries behind an 18:19.42 clocking. All results are still unofficial.
